About the Artist

Jacob Jarvis has spent his entire glassblowing career based out of Spokane, Washington — about 15 years deep and still building. He got into glass the way a lot of the best artists do: by watching. Lyle and Doty were the spark, and then Doty (RIP) took him on as an apprentice, giving him his foundation. Highgrade came in shortly after and taught him a great deal more.

From there Jacob sought out some of the most respected names in sculptural glass — taking classes from Joe P, Coyle, Elbo, Quave, Ghost, Shelbo, Etai, and Phil Segal. That's a lineage that reads like a who's who of the American functional art glass scene, and it shows in his work. If Jacob specializes in anything, it's sculpture and eyeballs — the kind of detail work that separates a craftsman from an artist. His signature Warrior Rig series has earned him a dedicated following and placement in shops and galleries across the country.
