About the Artist

Jacob Hunter grew up in the shop. His dad was part of the Montage crew, so flameworking was always in the background — and eventually it stuck. Based in Spokane, Jacob is mostly self-taught beyond his father's influence, and says he learns the most from the collaborations he's been a part of.

His focus is function, full stop. He's built enough recyclers that his form has become recognizable — collectors and fellow artists can pick it out in a crowd. Lately he's been pushing into linework, fume, and faceting, adding more visual depth to pieces that already move water beautifully. You'll find his work at select shops across the country, including The Glass Cave in Montana.
