About the Artists

Carsten Carlile is from Eugene, Oregon — the birthplace of the American glass pipe industry. Eugene is where Bob Snodgrass landed after touring with the Grateful Dead and started melting glass in ways nobody had seen before, creating the foundation for everything that came after. Carsten grew up in that world. Between 16 and 17 he was already slinging glass he sourced from a buddy. By 18, in 1995, he started taking formal lessons from artists who had studied directly under Snodgrass. He went on to teach many of today's well-known glass blowers, collaborate with the most respected names in the industry, and build landmark pieces as a member of the Molten Art Classic. His glass is carried in 500+ stores across the United States and collected worldwide.

Birddogg is a fellow glass artist known for his distinctive color palette and patterning — the kind of collab that only happens when both people have been in the game long enough to respect each other's work.
